It was drizzling the night before when Michael had to put his bike at T1 (I say T1 because Transition was not in just one location - there was a T1 and T2). So he put a Fudruckers bag over his seat and a ziplock bag over his computer
Michael putting his chip on
laying out all the goods at T2
pumping up his tires
Team Whetstone Leader - Jackie helping Michael prepare his liquids. This is NOT an individual sport :o)
drying off his bike - from the previous nights moisture
This is the hill after the swim up to T1 - lovely!!!
Team Whetstone - there were only 3 members this triathlon - girly sounding but loud enough
Bored, nervous, or concentrating?
Again - not an individual sport - Michael getting help, from Maizeigh, his wet suit
Best picture of the day
Big Daddy and Maizeigh stretching
Michael finishing up the 1500 Meter swim - fastest swim in his age group!
Out of the swim
Michael left his flip flops at the boat ramp to have them on after the swim - the run up that hill was not smooth (or easy)
Grandma and Maizeigh hurrying to see Big Daddy at T1
Every participant had to put their items in a trash bag marked with their number for the volunteers to bring over to T2
Big Daddy out on the bike
Team Whetstone decided to just go ahead and take Big Daddy's leftover gear in the car after he left, so we didn't have to worry about others messing with it.
Big Daddy has a smile at the top of the hill
On the bike
Big Daddy out for his run
one of the police officer said "Run Forrest" to Michael
Big Daddy crossing the finish line
gotta get a picture...
Big Daddy taking Maizeigh for a bike ride
Big Daddy won 3rd in his age group
After the triathlon we visited Kings Mountain National Military Park and had a great time learning more about the Battle at Kings Mountain
What a FUN time we had - We're proud of you Big Daddy!
